Lease Vehicle Turned IN

I have to attend court because I contacted my leasing company to turn in my suv due to lost of income. The vehicle was leased in Ohio & I reside in N.C. I have the creditor enrolled in a debt management company but the leasing company still insist on sueing me.

Has anyone been in this situation and can offer some insight on what I should expect the day of court? The leasing company is sueing me for 4 times the amount of the remaining balance for the 11 months that I was scheduled to lease the vehicle. The suit is for $12,000.00. I believe that I should pay the $3,000.00 but I think it's unfair to ask for 4 times that amount.
