The link is in the HFD FAQs. Even though it refers to Washington State residents it should apply regardless of where in the US you live.
Hope this helps.

I'm also being sued, by Amex, while being enrolled with DebtShield. I answered the summon, went to the first trial, didn't come to an agreement with the Amex lawyers, the judge game me another month and a half. All in all, looks like I'll lose anyways. Debtshield spoke with the Amex attorneys, the attornesy told them that I needed to fillout an income statement before they would negotiate. I did but they didn't negotiate. They then said that I had to basically sign that I agreed to give-up on the trial and let them win before they would negotiate. At this point, I don't really trust them since they said they would negotiate after I gave them my income/asset statement. I'm not sure I should sign the second document. I get the feeling they'll then just come after me for the full amount. That's my experience so far, I wonder if anyone has done more and whether they got screwed in the end.
I would definately keep
I would definately keep records of Amex's broken promises. That's really underhanded of them! You're trying to pay off your debt and even gave them your income statement and they are breaking their promises to you. I wonder if filing a BBB complaint against Amex would do any good. Has anyone had any experience filing BBB complaints against credit card companies?
Being sued of a Bank is not
Being sued of a Bank is not everyones dream, that's for sure. I don't want to scare you, but you can you should expect the worse. You should have also predicted this situation, never let things to heat up, specially when it comes to debts. You had or have options like having a debt settlement and then start working on it.
If AMEX offers you a
If AMEX offers you a settlement, make sure you have everything in order (and that they have everything in order). Some creditor reps can be tricky and (I know it's hard to believe) may try to apply a settlement payment as a regular payment. These and other issues are covered in the DIY Debt Settlement Kit that you can get from the National Financial Awareness Network.
